Frank A. Damato Scholarship

Mission 

Created in remembrance of Brother Frank Damato, the mission of the Frank A. Damato Scholarship Fund is to assist the new generation of leaders through scholarship opportunities. To further that end, five scholarships will be awarded.

Recipients will be formally announced at the July Monthly Membership meeting on July 7, 2026.

Our Late President, Frank A. Damato, was a passionate and dedicated unionist who consistently put his members needs above his own. In an essay, describe how you demonstrate selflessness, dedication, or service in your school, work, family, or community, and explain how these values will guide your educational and career goals. 

Eligibility

1. At least a high school senior at the time of the application,
2. Provisionally accepted as a student at an accredited community college or undergraduate degree at a four-year accredited university,
3. Have a parent/ grandparent that is a member in good standing of Laborers’ Local One.

All candidates applying for the scholarship must submit a written essay, no longer than six hundred words. The essay must be submitted in a Microsoft Word document.
