ELECTION DAY! GET OUT AND VOTE!

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

 At the top of the ballot, you will be asked to vote on an amendment to the Illinois Constitution that will guarantee every Illinois worker the right to bargain for better pay, improved benefits, and safe working conditions.

 I’m urging everyone to vote YES.

 The Workers’ Rights Amendment guarantees our right to collectively negotiate pay raises, benefits, and safe working conditions. If adopted the Amendment will make sure no anti-union governor or lawmakers in the future can take these rights away from us, as has happened in other states.

 Opponents of Amendment 1 are LYING TO THE PUBLIC. Adding workers’ rights to the IL Constitution will NOT RAISE PROPERTY TAXES. Their math is based on taking collective bargaining rights AWAY from workers in a future legislative session. Property taxes will go up even if the amendment fails, because one has nothing to do with the other. It’s just a scare tactic to trick voters into opposing workers’ rights.
